Halal certified restaurants are hard to come by, especially one that served really good quality dishes for its diner everyday at affordable prices. 1 Market is helmed by Chef Wan; a truly celebrity chef from Malaysia that is featured in international programmes such as National Geographic Channel. This is not my first time dining at 1 Market as I have dined here with my Muslim colleagues before. And in the month of Ramadan, many Muslim friends come here to break fast (evening) together with their non-Muslim friends. I really like the idea that people of different races come together to learn more about one another’s culture. A common misconception is that people may think that a Halal restaurant will have many malay dishes, but once you step into 1 Market, you will realise that the spread is truly international. To top it all, they have a wide spread of fresh, juicy and decadent seafood for everyone to enjoy.

MEDZS at Millenia Walk recently revamped its kitchen to include Asian cuisine into its menu to allow diners a more holistic experience that allows them to dine with more choices including a number of popular Asian dishes. Now it is East meets West under one roof, combining the expertise of western dining into Asian cuisines. Whenever I am in a big group, there tend to be people who has different taste buds, so the new addition means less headache because if one does like Mediterranean food, there are more choices that are available!

Diamond Kitchen 钻石小厨 @ Laguna Park Condominium (Marine Parade) May 7, 2014

The word “Diamond” and “Kitchen” just doesn’t sound quite together. But tucked at the residential condominium of Laguna Park along Marine Parade is a Diamond Kitchen. Within few months of opening, it has received a large fan fare and many throne the place in anticipation of what the Diamond Kitchen whips up. Helmed by two cousins, Josh Chou, 30, and Lambert Chen, 27, these two young entrepreneurs worked closely with Chef Kevin Lau who has more than 25 years of experience, and jointly create some of these signature dishes that I had sampled.
