Habitat Coffee Two CoffeeHabitat Coffee Bistro caught my attention on Instagram because I love coffee and free pour art aka coffee art.  There were just so many gorgeous and beautiful coffee art and the coffee are in these colourful cups and saucers.  As I am meeting a friend who stays in Potong Pasir, so I suggested checking out the café along Upper Thomson Road.  And the first one we checked-in was Habitat.

The Lokal Food Galore

The Lokal is not new to the local café scene, however it is still considered the new-kid-in-the-block.  I mean, if there are still people who stays in Pinnacle @ Duxton and not aware of its existence, it must still pretty new right?  I took an instant liking for this Aussie inspired café the first time I stepped in.  I like a café bright and cheery and it seems very welcoming and inviting.  Everyone seems happy being there and there’s a lot of vibrancy and energy.  That makes eating more pleasurable.  I am a firm believer that the atmosphere and ambience created is just as equally important as the food and beverage and service you can come to expect from a café or restaurant.

CAD Cafe 23 Haji LaneIt was quite some time back that I visited CAD Café with my friend.  It took us a little effort to locate the café that was in a small alley of Kampung Bahru District.  Cafés are plenty around the area, but they seem to be a little understated as compared to the Tiong Bahru café.  Check the list of café at the end of the entry.

CAD is a very small and cosy café with just two or three tables within the café interior but you can sit alfresco style outside.  Even so, tables are few.  But I like how the café is, serving some honest breakfast, sandwiches and meals.  The coffee is awesome, the kind which you know they took effort to make every cup of coffee to your satisfaction.  CAD stands for Coffee, Art & Design.  The founders of the café have background in Art & Design, with equal passion for coffee.  Expect to see art pieces from renowned international artist to local upcoming and student work.

Lola's Coffee Coffee Profile

I reckon that many people would have already known Lola’s Café. The last weekend I went, it was crowded with people. I had to wait one hour before I can get a table. Where the cafe is, there isn’t anything else much to do. So besides just standing around to wait, there is nothing much to do.

However, I was happy to be back in the Simon Road because I was working around the area few years ago. So i was able to reminisce on the good old times I had. This place brings me back a lot of memories. There are few cafés sprouting out in Hougang area, it would have been great if I’m still working here! I will be happy to come Lola’s Cafe frequently!

Tolida Espresso Nook Breakfast

Tolido’s Espresso Nook is one of the café that opens around the area of Bugis/Beach Road.  Located at one of the shop house at Textile Centre, this quaint little café is a humble and non-pretentious café that serves good coffee and value meals.  I got acquainted to the café because of many beautiful latte art at instagram.
