Grandma's Restaurant I was at the vicinity of Changi Business Park on Friday and we were thinking of where to have lunch at Changi City Point. So we racked our brains thinking where to go until someone suggested Grandma’s. Then I said “let’s go there. They have cheap beers”. Turn out true enough they have really cheap beers all day round. 1 pint of Erdinger at only $6.90! Apparently that’s the price of a can of Erdinger if you get it from the Supermarket.

I usually have the nasi lemak at Grandma’s but since one of our friend suggested to have the nasi bukhari, so we all have that. Hence my apology I can only review with 1 picture.

Well to put it in simply, the rice set meets the standard for the fried chicken which is nicely marinated. The chicken skin is light and fried to a crisp. Chicken is also rather tender and juicy. However the disappointing thing is because we arrived before lunch time about 11.45am, their rice is still not ready. So they served the plain rice instead. I just felt quite shortchanged. Anyway how could they not have the rice early way before the lunch crowd commences?

Other than the big fried chicken leg, the set comes with a portion of beef redang, prawns in Assam and half a soft boiled egg. All these for $14.90.

I’m sure you heard of Mdm Kwan by now, which recently debuts at Vivocity. Mdm Kwan is a Malaysia voted best nasi lemak store! They sell almost same variety of food with Grandma’s.

I guess if you drink beer, Grandma’s Restaurant is something you should consider. Anyway it’s so local.
