Garibaldi Italian Restaurant May 3, 2013

Posted by gurkhason in food, photos.

There is another restaurant I had visited during the Restaurant Week.  It is the famed Garibaldi Italian Restaurant located at Purvis Street.  I have been to Purvis Street many times and passed by this Italian Restaurant many times but never had once dine there.  So I make a fast reservation when the restaurant week commences and invited my sweet colleague to come and experience it with me.

Thick Mushrooms Cream with Soft Boiled Egg & Truffled Taleggio Cheese Fondue
The mushroom soup we had was very memorable.  Other than the usual mushroom taste, you can also taste truffles in it.  The soup is thick, smooth and silky in texture.  What’s unique is there is a soft boiled egg soaked inside the soup.  I’m not sure how to consume it, so I didn’t break it but had it seperately.  It is a unique experience.
Grilled Black Angus Beef “Tagliata” with Porcini Mushrooms & Asparagus
For the mains, I had the grilled black angus beef which is sliced thinly.  The beef is very tender and succulent.  Particularly, I loved the sauce as it is very tasty and so is the accompanied mushrooms and asparagus.
???????????????????????????????TARTELLETTA DI CIOCCOLATO FONDENTE

Chocolate Tart with Mascarpone Orange Scented Cream & Orange Compote
This is the devilish dessert I had which is a chocolate tart.  I am not a big fan of chocolate but this chocolate tart just blows my mind away.  It is mildly sweet and rich with chocolate taste and it goes very well with the scented orange cream that comes along with it.  One of the most memorable dessert that I have recently.
The above menu comes with coffee or tea at $55++.  Very worth the price for the food and experience in this coveted restaurant.
