If you are still cracking your head to think of where to bring your mother for a Mother’s Day celebratory meal, Medz have created special menu from their kitchen to cater for this year’s mother’s day celebration.  Your whole family can indulge either in a seafood or meat platter from their Greek and French kitchen.  There is enough variety and choices for the whole family.

The Greek Seafood Platter ($49.80+) is one of the most indulging seafood platter from Medz Greek kitchen.  The platter is a seafood galore of crabs, prawns, fish, and mussels.  There is even the salmon head which is specially flown in for the special occassion.

The winners in the platter are the grilled fishes: sea bass, sea bream, snapper and salmon – all grilled to the right texture and perfection.  They are lightly seasoned and mildly salted to retain their seafood freshness.  You can even taste the sea with their king butter crab.

The Seafood Platter comes with a side of watercress salad, mashed potatoes and roasted eggplants. I am never really fond of watercress unless their are cooked in my mum’s soup but this side green with olive oil (the healthy oil from Mediterranean!!) and some almonds just blows my mind off. Watercress will never be the same again!

The roasted eggplant are really delightful. It is complementary with the onions providing a balanced soft tenderness with every bite.

The carnivores will love the Meat Platter ($48.80+).  Enjoy this sumptous meaty treat from Medz french kitchen which consists of pan-fried duck confit, crispy pork belly, Australia Wagyu beef rump, roasted pork ribs. Even though it may not be a French restaurant, but the duck confit is probably one of the most enjoyable one I had. The roasted pork ribs are tender and flavourful and the crispy pork belly are….. well the name says it: CRISPY!

The meat platter comes with sides of roasted wild mushrooms, roasted potatoes and side of green salad to temper the taste. The roasted potatoes are really nice. Little crisp on outside but soft inside. There are cloves of garlic to give it a hint of garlicky flavour.

The wild mushrooms are nice though I feel it is a little dry. I thought would be a better idea to have it sautéed. Do the French do it that way?

End the meal with a sweet treat for mum. These sweet desserts are a must.  The Desserts Platter ($21.90+) is a steal, with a variety of dessert such as lychee rose panna cotta, churros with chocolate sauce, red velvet cake, chocolate brownie and earl grey creme brulee. There’s something for everyone in the family. My personal favourite is the unique earl grey creme brulee and lychee rose panna cotta. Both are unconventional flavours but memorable treats.
